| 1. Trex Seclusion Privacy Fence Trex Seclusion Privacy Fence is a green product that offers beauty and privacy from every angle and can significantly increase the value of an entire neighborhood. Trex Seclusion fencing is crafted from Trex material consisting of recycled and reclaimed wood and plastic. Combing in the two materials results in a product more durable and aesthetically pleasing than ordinary wood fencing, which requires substantial maintenance Like Trex decking, our fencing won't rot, warp, splinter or buckle, so it'll never need painting or staining. It's also resistant to insects, and withstands winds up to 130 mph. The "stick-built" system can also be customized and the robust posts need no reinforcement.* *As on a vinyl fence, gate post should always be reinforced with metal inserts. 2. What is Trex? Trex Wood-Polymer® lumber is made from reclaimed plastic and wood waste in approximately equal proportions. Its durability makes it an ideal choice for decking, landscaping, and fencing. The photo below shows the difference between an ordinary privacy fence and Trex Seclusion Fencing. 3. Is Trex made of recycled materials? Trex is made from post-consumer and/or post-industrial reclaimed plastic and waste wood. The reclaimed plastic comes primarily from grocery sacks and stretch film, and the waste wood is from woodworking manufacturers. 4. What is the difference between Trex and "plastic lumber?" Unlike plastic lumber, which is typically 100% plastic, Trex is approximately 50% wood fiber and 50% plastic. Because of the wood content, Trex has the advantages of low thermal expansion/contraction, natural UV stability, good traction and paintability, and Trex is just as easy to work with as wood. 5. Does Trex come with a warranty? Yes, Trex has a fully-transferable limited warranty unmatched by competitive materials. The Trex limited warranty offers coverage against material defects in workmanship and materials, and against splintering, splitting, checking, rot, decay and termite damage, for a full 25 years. The total life expectancy for Trex is currently undetermined. Accelerated age testing is ongoing and has simulated over 50 years of exposure to harsh weather with little affect on our products. 6. Can Trex Wood-Polymer lumber be used in full ground contact? Is treating required? Trex lumber is ideal for ground contact applications such as landscaping timbers and edging. Trex lumber is highly resistant to rot and insects, and absolutely no treating is required. 7. Will insects damage Trex? Trex has been tested and found to be highly resistant to damage from termites, carpenter ants and marine borers. 8. See photos of Trex Seclusion Fencing.
